Grace notes replacing rests?

Hi,
I am trying to transcribe Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G major to a Musescore file, but I have a few problems. There is this measure which has a lot of grace notes in it:

They replace the first half note in the measure. I can add the notes as grace notes to the half D note in the end, but then 1) they start after the three notes in the lower staff, and 2) there is this half rest that doesn't go away. Also, the rest in the lower staff is (logically) 3/8, whereas it is notated in the original score as a half, because of the fermata I guess.

Does anybody have a suggestion as to how I should fix these problems?
Thanks!

In a time signature of 4/4 the half rest is correct, but you can deselect visible for it in the inspector.
In the measure of the bass clef I suppose there is a triplet missing in the original score, from where you transcribe it (compare the structure of this measure with the measures before).

note: a workaround for the treble clef (if you want to have a similar output like in the source) could be to transcribe the notes in this measure by using a second voice.
After that it's possible to delete the half rest before in voice 2 (but anyway you have to hide the rest in voice 1).

Have you listened to this measure in a performance? I have not. Having said that, I think the measure looks more like a cadenza than a bunch of grace notes. I think I would opt to listen to it and decide how to best notate this. If it is a cadenza, count up the beats in the measure and adjust the actual measure duration in measure properties. I wold then decide where I want my 1/2 rest to be and make the rest of the rests in the measure invisible.

The more I look at the picture, the more I expect that when you listen you will discover the 1/8th notes are played as the same 32nd notes from the previous measure. The first 4 groups of notes count 32 then there are the 3 groups of notes followed by the 1/2 note. If I'm correct about playback, there are 7 beats in the measure.

Using MuseScore, there is no way to write this as 32nd notes that look like 1/8th notes in the left hand while maintaining the proper playback of the right hand. I shouldn't say no way, there's always a way, but everything I can think of is far more trouble than it's worth.
