Change Sharps to Flats
Hi,
I am using a keyboard to input notes. They come out as sharps when it should be flats. Is there a way I can highlight the notes and hit a key which will change them from sharps to flats. An example would be having G# then selecting the note and hitting a key which would change it to Ab. I know I can use the arrow keys to move the note up and back down but this takes too long to do it individually for each note that has a sharp. This will be great if there is a command that does this.
Thanks so much.

...by holding 'Ctrl', while selecting all the notes you can move them as a group (rather than individually) up, then back down, using the arrow keys.

yeah, but it just seems it would be much easier with one key shortcut. I think thats how it is in the other notation programs. Is there a way to have the notes default to flats when using a midi keyboard to input notes?
Thanks for the response

I thought the defaults were dependent on key - do you have the key signature set? And of course, it would be incorrect to *always* use flats. The correct spelling depends on the direction of the line as well as the harmonic context.
Anyhow, 2.0 will have a single key command (J) to flip spelling in the cases where the default isn't correct for the situation. Still, up/down is a pretty easy thing too.

Yeah, its just in C Major or a minor but moving the arrow keys is fine for now. The command that you talked about in ver. 2 is just what I'm looking for. Do you know when that is supposed to be released? Thanks for the info and fast responses.

No official word other than "when it's ready". It goes faster the more people that download nightly builds to test it - see the Download link at right.
