note insertion in a score

I'd like to know how to insert a note I left out of one part of a trio score. It is in the middle of the piece of 50 measures and I hope the following measures will auto adjust to the note I want to insert.

The following measures will not auto adjust.

However, if all relationships in time are to stay the same, you can copy all that you want to move and paste them in the new position.

No need to erase anything or type anything over. As xavierjazz said, simply copy - as in good old fashioned copy & paste - everything you want moved. Eg, click first note of region, shift click last, ctrl-c or ctrl-x, then click where you want the notes moved to and hit ctrl-v

Even if you wanted to retype the notes for some reason, still no need to erase first. New notes overwrite the old.
