Lead Sheet - Create Chord Chart
I am a brand new user, just downloaded today. I love the program, I have never scored anything before, and the program has made it exceptionally easy.
That said, I can not generate a lead sheet from my score. I created chords, named them appropriately, and I am unable to figure out how to do it. I have consulted the forums and users manual, and I apologize if this is a ridiculously simple thing to do. Again, new user.
I am using V. 1.3 Rev. 5702.

But I don't know what you mean about creating a lead sheet from your score. There is no automatic facility to turn a full score into a lead sheet. If you want a lead sheet, you should create one the same as any other score. Use one of the lead sheet templates if you like. You could then copy and paste stuff into it from your score, except I believe this leads to a crash (copy from full score to single staff score if chord symbols are present).
If you are referring to the menu item Plugins / Lead Sheet / Create Chord Chart, that has nothing to do with converting a score into a lead sheet. That's just a utility to generate a chart for you showing what chords MuseScore accepts. See also Chord Name in the handbook.

I thought that by entering chord names into your score that the program could generate a lead sheet. My bad. That would be why it didnt work! Thanks!

If you want the changes, it can produce that. If you expect it to reproduce the melody for you, you are out of luck.

Slight confusion here...
'Lead sheet', as I understand the term, refers to a scored melody line (usually a single voice, or instrument) which includes chord changes (normally written above the staff). Also, if the work is not strictly an instrumental composition, song lyrics are often added (normally written below the staff).
On the other hand...
Entering chord names into a blank score can produce a 'chord chart', especially if slash notation is used. For example, rhythm guitarists (among others) commonly employ this method to notate accompaniment.
Having said that...
I couldn't tell if you wished to create a chord chart from a lead sheet, because you wrote: 'Lead Sheet - Create Chord Chart as the forum topic title;

So, what sort of sheet/chart did you wish to generate, and from what?
