templates order changeable?
Hello
Is there a way to change the order of templates in the start center? Or make a template the default?
the piano staff template is way down in the thumbnails and I'd love to have it either first or just after the grand staff.
Thank you

So sorry, not having luck with this. Where do I find the templates folder to browse? The screenshot cut off the path. Other than burying the piano staff template, I like how the start wizard sets up a new workspace.
Thank you

It is in a directory next to the one that has the MuseScore program, so e.g. in 64bit Windows on C:\Program Files (x86)\MuseScore 2\Templates.
The order in the wizard is defined by the filenames, they start with some number, renaming them to different numberings should sort them differently

I think this may come closest to what I'd love to do--like pinning and sorting jump lists and New Tab frequent page tiles. There are 3-4 of templates I'll probably use most and others I will probably never use but don't want to delete. I'll experiment with latest suggestions. Thank you all very much!

Yes, this worked as hoped. I moved the piano template into General as well as re-ordering the template group folders, and renaming General group files. Will experiment with a template copy as start page set item.
Thank you all again!

FWIW, though, I recommend against this approach. I foresee problems on update, reinstall, or uninstall as MuseScore cannot find the relevant files. Better to leave MuseScore's own file alone and instead use your own Templates folder as I suggested earlier - that's what it is there for.

Windows: C:/Programs/MuseScore2/Templates
An alternate approach I'd recommend considering would be to create a score with the template you want then immediately save it to your own templates folder (eg, Documents/MuseScore2/Templates). Then this will show up at the top of the templates list. It also gives you an opportunity to tweak the defaults style settings etc if you like.
