Composition won't play back
Musescore isn't playing back any composition. The sound simply isn't working. It also doesn't play the note as I "write" it, which it is set to do. So, basically the notes themselves won't play at all. However, I can play the metronome just fine. All other sounds on my computer are working (iTunes, youtube, etc.). I have followed all the troubleshooting advice already given - checking the sound font, restarting, reverting to factory settings, uninstall/reinstall. Nothing is working. I am running the latest software on my mac and the latest muse score version.
Please help!

Is it #234811: No sound on Mac and Windows, I/O's PortAudio API drop down menu empty? Or #198086: [Mac] No sound via Bluetooth or Airplay?

No, the bar is not greyed out and I have selected the correct output from the portAudio API drop down menu. And I'm not looking for bluetooth sound, just for it to play through the built in mac speakers like it normally does.

I also downloaded the latest nightly version and that did not fix my problem, as it seems to have in #234811: No sound on Mac, I/O's PortAudio API drop down menu empty

Could you check, if it works with MuseScore 2.0.3.1 (https://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/musescore/releases/MuseScore-2.0.3/)?

Is that not the same as what is on the website for download?

No it isn't. On the website you'll find MuseScore 2.1, the last released version. However for some Mac users the playback doesn't work with MuseScore 2.1, but works with MuseScore 2.0.3.1, the version before 2.1.

I also downloaded the 1.3 version this morning and playback is working fine there.
