Bass notes are wrong.
Hi guys, please tell me I'm not going crazy. I've been composing a part for voice (bass voice) and the notes sound off. The natural D2 sounds more like a Db2. The E is off too. It sounds like a couple of the notes are just lower in pitch than they should be. Any thoughts?

You mean the Sound "Ahh Choir" in the soundfont FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3 of MuseScore 2.1?

I checked the version and it says 2.0.3.
As for the sound font I have no idea, it's the standard one that came with the software when I downloaded it. I didn't change anything.
If I go to "synthesizer" it says FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3. Is that it? As for the "Ahh Choir" I don't know. Where do I find that?
Thanks very much.

Could you attach here your score (the *.mscz)?

Check in mixer. But also upgrade to 2.1 and listen there again. Several such issues had been fixed there although I don't recall one regarding ahh choir

Sure, I deleted the whole score and piano parts just for safety issues, hope you understand. Left only a bar of the vocal part. Please listen to it and tell me what you think. The D sounds a bit low. It's significantly lower than my piano's.
Question: If I upload to the new version will I still be able to open my files without any changes to my scores?
Thank you.

is your file, opened with 2.1, changed the sound from Mixer and saved.
It is not necessary to uninstall the previous version. You could try to download a Nightly 2.2 (https://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/musescore-nightlies/windows/ ) to open it.

Oh, got it. It works. That Oboe D sounds much better, sounds like all I need to do is changing the soundfont. Thanks very much.

I don't really hear anything unusual about that note FWIW. A few cents low according to my tuner app, but within the normal variance I expect. Could be your piano is a bit high on that note.

I thought about my piano being higher, but then to make sure I downloaded piano apps, like "My Piano Phone", and the note there sounds considerably higher too.
I also tried an app to analyze the pitch and when I play the note on Musescore it keeps changing between C# and D. Thanks for your feedback though.
