Auto-scrolling makes notation really difficult

Is there any way to disable the auto-scrolling in MuseScore? Just going back to a measure to add a note to a chord, causes the screen to jump to what it thinks I want to be. Then, I have to zoom out to figure out where that is, so I can go back and finish the addition. If I have more than one note to add, then this tedious process has be be repeated. How about just letting we users decide where we want to be viewing and editing?
