The attached score shows the full range of placement options for the new L H Guitar FIngering in 3.0-dev. There is a problem with vertical placement of fingering in measures 5-6 and 9. The fingering should be much closer to the beam in all cases. IMV, the beam-to-fingering distance shown under letter "B" is fine.

I think what we're seeing is an attempt to round off the vertical position of the fingering to start either exactly on a line or exactly on a space - basically, preserving something of the original layout before autoplace. That combined with the angled beam makes the placement seem a bit erratic. No doubt this can be improved.
