Which instrument is the Tubo?
Hi! I've stumbled with this. Can't find it the unpitched percussion instrument called 'tubo' anywhere.
Could someone provide me an explanation of what is it?
Edit: is it the tubophon?

Can you explain where you found the reference to the tubo? It seems a tubo phone would probably be considered a pitched instrument.

I'll be interested in finding out what it is too. It has a Triangle sound assigned to it.
There's this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tubaphone
Which I've seen and seems within reason...
Then there's this:

note difference in spelling

So, it resembles the tubaphone in the assigned sound and it resembles the tubophone in the spelling and in the fact it's unpitched. I'm confused :S

I can see where a tubophone would be considered a non pitched instrument like a set of tenor drums, but the sound of a triangle assigned to it!?!?!

I checked again. There are three, all pitched
Note the spellings of each
Tubaphone or tubuphone https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tubaphone
Tubophone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STK-a5y2Yq8
Tubophon (no e) the second link in my first reply
All pitched. (?)
How about Tubo (a large shaker)

I know the assigned sound would not make sense. Probably lower-pitched marakas.
I was expecting the person who added it to the program to tell us what it is. Searching the forums I don't see a request that it be added.

See 15631d3795, tubo is in there since at least 26 Jul 2012, maybe longer.
Actually it was in MuseScore 1.x already.
I guess the sound it got assigned is just wrong and instead of "Open Triangle", pitch 81, should rather be "Maracas", pitch 70.

Thanks Jojo - my money was on you to find the commit for it.
While the instrument pitch has to change, can you add the shaker instrument, also using maracas sound if there is not a sound specific for the shaker? I remember translating the string, but it is not in Instruments (I ended up repurposing maracas for the arrangement I did).

I just used
git blame
on instruments.xml.There is a Shaker sound, pitch 82, in the 'Percussion' instrument
Makes me think that the tubo pitch is an off-by-one error...

finally something makes sense 👍
