Da Capo al Segno

Hi Everyone,

At the last bar of the piece I want the music to repeat from the beginning of the piece to the end of a certain measure. There are voltas in between. Do I place the al Segno at the last bar and place the Segno at the end of the measure I want repeated to? When I do this the playback repeats only from the last volta not all the way from the beginning to the Segno. Is that because Da Capo al Segno is not recognized in the playback or is there a better way of doing this? Sorry, I don't have an example right now. I hope this is clear.
