Importing a file and musescore recognizing it as a SATB piece?
Hi, I have a .mxl file that I imported into musescore. It's originally a SSAAT piece, I'm just trying to figure out how it would sound SATB, or whatever equivalent would make sense for 5 parts. I'm not trying to change the parts, as I want to keep the score untouched, I'm just trying to make musescore recognize it as a choral piece so that I can see what it thinks are acceptable note ranges. Any ideas? I could obviously sit down with it and try to figure out what would work for each voice part but I would rather it be fast as I'm on a deadline.
Thanks in advance for whatever yall come up with!

I want to keep the score untouched Edit and save under a different name;Open Mixer and assign other sounds (e.g.: Violin,Vl-Oboe-Cello-Trombone). Then you can add more related Instruments; use Implode (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tools#implode ) and Copy & Paste.
You can right click a staff and change the instrument to another singing voice like baritone or bass and see what MuseScore's defaults say about the range (the notes will not be black if they're outside the normal range). Right click the staff, choose staff/part properties... then click change instruments.
