Crystallize
I can no longer open my score which I have worked on for a long time, and I don't know why. I think I tried saving it as a pdf but something went horribly wrong and it is preventing me from opening the score. I worry if it is gone forever.

You will need to find a backup as shoichi indicated. In the future, when you export a score to PDF, keep the PDF extension so you don't overwrite your .mscz file.
Actually you apparently used a PDF Printer, File > Print > Microsoft Print to PDF, not File > Export > PDF.
