Opacity is set by the parameter "Alpha channel" in the "Select Color" dialog: a value between 0, transparent, and 255, opaque.

It is the opposite of transparency.
100% opacity is the same as 0% transparency. You cannot see what is behind
0% opacity is the same as 100% transparency, the object is invisible.
