Writing one phrase per line - incomplete bars
I want to write out folk songs (single melody line). The convention for these is to put one phrase per line. I can do this if the bars/measures are full.
My problem is with songs where each phrase starts with an anacrusis (pick-up, upbeat). So in the attached screenshot you'll see I want to stop the first line after the D (3rd beat of second full bar/measure). Then I want the next line to start with the anacrusis quaver (eighth) G.
In this song there are four phrases and each starts with the quaver anacrusis.
Help please!

You can split measures at any note/rest. Select the d and use menu Tools/Measures/Split Measure before ...

In addition to splitting the measure as indicated above, you might also want to select the final system barline and turn it invisible.
