mxl file not read by Melody Player or Finale Notepad
I am using the latest Musescore version (3.5.0.13199). It produces mxl files which are not read by Melody Player (error in first line) or Finale Notepad (enigma error 12). Mxl from earlier Musescore versions were read without problem.

Please share such an mxl file.
Does it work with normal (non-compressed) MusicXML for that same file?

I should be more precise: Melody Player on Windows reads mxl files, but on iMac it does not.
The Musicxml version is read without problem by Finale. For Melody Player this option is not available.

Interesting.. as mxl is pretty much just a zip-compression of the musicxml.
What do they report on the attached?

Finale gives error 12. Melody Player on Windows reads the file without problem. I don't have an iMac available.
I will go back with the info to Myriad (Melody Player), as I think they have a problem with iMac. I brought up Finale just as extra evidence.
Thank you for your assistance.

Post to the makemusic support as well. From what I gather one of the reasons for Enigma Error 12 to show is that the software can't handle the file version. If the musicxml version is too new for your version of Finale; that error would then be expected.
Older MuseScore versions used older MusicXML versions, so perhaps that is why it used to work. I believe the current version of the standard is v3.1 and that should be what MuseScore is writing as well.
