transcription from midi keyboard with quantization
Entering notes from a midi keyboard has always been, for me, time consuming and difficult with regards to getting the note durations right. Press 4 (8th note) play some notes, press 5 (4tr note) play some notes, etc.
Last night I hit on an idea to play in real time into a DAW against a metronome click, then quantize the notes in the DAW, then export that as MIDI, and then pull that into Musescore. It's a beautiful thing. It produced a nice clean score in almost less time than it took me to write this forum post.
Wondering if there is a similar quantize feature in MuseScore, if not... there needs to be (in v4?). I know I can enter midi notes in real-time, but i'm not a good enough keyboardist to get the starts and durations so the notation I produce that way is unusable.

Have you looked at https://musescore.org/en/handbook/note-input-modes#realtime-auto and https://musescore.org/en/handbook/note-input-modes#realtime-manual? Perhaps these will be an improvement.

Thanks @Mike320 - those seem to be fun and useful modes as well. I think I can make that work for my purposes, and with far fewer steps involved. Thanks for the great tip.
