Musescore format catastrophe
The arranger I transcribe for asked me to change something in a 12 page supposedly completed score created in August in Musescore 3.0 or 3.2. Without thinking I opened the score from its designated file into 3.5 version to work on, made some alterations and saved back to the file it came from. When I re-opened the following day the lyrics had vanished changing the layout. When I try to open from anywhere it is this reverted version or a notice saying that the file is not available (even though it's listed). The only place I can retrieve the score as I want it is in the Start Centre but don't know how to save it without it being altered.
I could do the lyrics again but they were complicated and would take time. Is there anything I can do to keep the score I want?
I don't suppose I can send it to anyone from the Start Centre.
I really hope someone can save me!
Yours Olive

Look for a backup of the score. See https://musescore.org/en/node/52116
Whatever, editing a score from any MuseScore version in any other should never ever loose lyrics
Thank you. Did find a backup version through Windows. However I have managed to save the score I want to keep from the Start Centre onto my desktop. I’m going to experiment by changing its name and then copy it to my file of manuscripts, see how it opens from there and if it works delete all other versions of it. Olive

A score isn't saved "in" the start center. The start center just shows you shortcuts to your most recently opened files.

@Olive, your score won't simply be in another folder?
Have you tried (I think you are using Windows) to insert *.mscz in the search box?
