play a single voice

In a SATB or TTBB dual stave context i.e. closed stave, how can I play a single voice, eg the tenor line, with or without accompaniment ? The selection panel seems to have no effect. Ideally I want to 1-click select say voice 3 and play that line.
Allied with this is the ability to instantly add, say, the bass line to hear cue sounds.
