Unable to open musescore

The problem started after I updated musescore to the latest version. If I open musescore, it will pop up a tab saying that the program was closed unexpectedly and whether I want to or not want to return to the session. If I say yes, it will bring me to musescore and immediately exit out, the same happens if I say no. How can I fix this?
