guitar chords
After I create new guitar chords I have a folder created inside the palettes titled new chords. I try to drag and drop into that new folder and it doesn't work. I ihave windows 11 on laptop and the newest version of musescore. When I drag it over it disappears underneath the palettes

I assume you mean, you are trying to take a fretboard diagram from your score and add it to your palette. Instead of simply dragging, you need Ctrl+SHift+drag. Plan drag just repositions the diagram on the page.
