On a single sheet of music how do I add 9 bars rest without showing all the empty bars on the sheet?

Use keyboard shortcut M to toggle on multi-measure rests - see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/measure-rests

Have these 9 empty measures in a row, press M to switch on multimeasure rests
