Musescore crashes

I have been using Musecore for quite some time and run it on Window 10 (and now Windows 11).
I also run it on a MacBook Pro and, while it never seems to crash on Windows, it crashes many, many times on my MacBook Pro. This happened while running on Catalina, but now I have upgraded to Monterey and it is still crashing.
I have reinstalled several times and have disable all plugins and it's still happening.
I have persevered with it to see if I could find a pattern. I can say with some certainty that, although the crashes appear random, they happen almost exclusively when I'm using an operation which includes the COMMAND button (like copy and paste).
I came to this conclusion because there was an incident where just pressing the command button and nothing else would cause the crash and it did this every time I reopened the application until I finally shut down and rebooted.
I have crash reports but they are several pages long. I can supply if required.
Please assist.
