octave lines
I have an arrangement I'm working on ... one section is repeated twice and the second time through i want to have it an octave higher ... i can see how to add an octave line but is there any way to indicate the octave line only applies to the 2nd repeat?

The volta gets me the repeat so that the section is played a second time. But, the 2nd time through I want to play the melody an octave higher. I can use the 8va alta to indicate playing those measures an octave higher, but then the playback is an octave higher on both times through. Right now, for my own printout of the tune, I have a note telling me to play the 2nd time an octave higher, but I was wondering if there was a specific way to notate it so that the playback does what I want without removing the volta and just repeating the measures manually an octave higher (thus pushing my arrangement onto a 3rd page, which I'd like to avoid).

Okay, so you print out a page like this, with the 8va indication that you play. This avoids printing an extra page.

Once your score is printed, duplicate the repeated section in MuseScore as notation an octave higher (or use the 8va on the repeated section). Your computer doesn't care about the extra page, and your printed version will remain the way you want it.
