MS4 - play panel observations
I just got MS4beta up and running on Ubuntu Linux 20.04
I created a simple score and tested playback and its navigation. Perhaps because this is a beta, when I rewind to measure 1, the view of the score remains where-ever I stopped. AND, the "ball-on-line" (don't know it's official name) also remains where I stopped playback.
Clicking play, the score view and ball-on-line jump to measure 1. This won't be the behavior when MS4 is out of beta? Thanks.

Rewind is about playback, not your view of the score. Ctrl+Home is the command for that to reposition the view. That's the same as MU3.

Ah, I'll try that. I got used to MU3's way of behaving. Thanks.

In MS4, whether focus is on the Play Panel or the score, Ctrl+Home does nothing. Clicking on the Rewind button moves start-of-playback to start of score. The playback-progress-slider's button (I don't know what it's called) does not visually confirm playback will start from the beginning. The measures viewed in the score stays where playback was stopped.
In MS3, clicking on Rewind moves start-of-playback to the beginning, moves the playback-progress-slider's button to the beginning, and the view in the score now shows the start of the score. Focus has to be on the score for Ctrl-Home to 'rewind'.
Repositioning playback & score view do not work the same between MS3 & MS4.

It’s not really true that Ctrl+Home does nothing - it does the main thing it was designed to do, which is select the first element of the score. However, currently it does not also reposition the view. That’s already fixed for the next update.
