Restrict dynamics to voice 1
I have a 3-voice guitar score which has the melody in voice 1, bass in voice 2 and a repeating refrain in voice 4, (which plays when there are no notes in voice 2). The bass works well at velocity offset -10 throughout and voice 4 at -20. Voice 1 needs to have dynamics applied since this voice carries the song words and these vary in volume.
So, is there any way to restrict the dynamics markings to affect only voice 1?
(I realise that voice 4 is not strictly necessary and could be moved to voice 2 but it much easier to adjust the relative volumes by using separate voices. Using 2 and 4 also keeps the stems downward.)

Not currently (in MU3 or MU4) possible. It seems the plan for MU4 is the have note velocity be the One Source Of Truth for volume, so applying a positive velocity there (n MU4, that means velocity > 64) would be the way to achieve that. This will track the dynamic, so even if the dynamic change from p to mf to ff, a note velocity of 76 means, a +12 offset offset applied to whatever the current dynamic is.

Is it possible to use the symbols for dynamics without actually setting any values? I have tried stave text with a bold, italic text font but it didn't end up quite the same as the style used for dynamics. This way I could manage the velocity offset manually but still retain the nice dynamics symbols.

Use the dedicated shortcuts (or special characters palette): https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/text-editing#special-character-shor…

Thanks, there's obviously quite a bit of interest.
