Between slurs and ties?
Ties connect adjacent notes of same pitch and play the combined duration, slurs connect an arbitrary number of notes with arbitrary pitches and usually mean legato
Another way of expressing it - ties lengthen a note. Slurs say, play these two separate notes a little more smoothly than you otherwise would. Completely different concepts.
Slurs would not normally be used for each note in a chord - a single slur is all you normally use. Ties are one per note. MuseScore does all this automatically.
