Create a "Song Book"

• Sep 24, 2014 - 05:46

I'd like to be able to create a Song Book. So I need to add files one to the end of the other with a separator that causes the new page and change of Style, sizing, page setup, etc.

Once created this would allow me to print the whole book double sided. So I guess I would need a "Book Setup" which would override left right margins.

Maybe we can do this already, if so please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Ken

Yes, I did look at that (after I posted) but I can't see any Help/Description.

I am excited that you have this feature so let me describe my application:-

Firstly I should point out that I play "Fake Book" music. So I format each piece to fit on one page - if I can. So each piece (score) is formatted differently and I need to retain that. I have a few 2 page pieces and it would be nice to be able to specify "starts on even # page" - but that's not really worth the effort. I can have a separate "2 page" section and can add a note on the Contents Page.

However, I would like to print the Album double sided. So I would need to be able to override the left and right binding margins.

It would be really nice to be able to split the Album out to 2 files for printing, as some printers don't support 2 sided printing and it is painful to do this manually.

I don't think page numbers are important because the pieces are sorted alphabetically. But it might be nice to be able to insert a piece rather than just "add". I have close 100 pieces in my "sing-a-Long" song book.

Of course, a "sort" feature would be wonderful but let's be realistic!! Sometimes the file names don't match the titles and "The" is a word I usually ignore in my sequencing.

I can't think of other "Album: settings that would be needed but I am sure some will come up.

If you have any documentation of what we can currently do with the Album feature please, I would love to read it.

Thanks,

Ken
