I'm on Linux Mint. The file opens regularly, try using a Nightly (https://musescore.org/en/nightly-builds) and take a look at https://musescore.org/en/node/335842
4.0.1 crashes on both, Windows 11
this is not the first time, according to some comments in the forums, that Linux has behaved differently.

I really appreciate your quick answers. - Shoichi's hint to 'How to fix corrupted files in Mu4' has helped me to recover my files. Nevertheless, to me it's seems to be safer to go back to Mu3.6.
Perhaps this problem and some playback problems that I have encountered have something to do with repeats in the respective scores. The two files, that couldn't be re-opend both contain repeats. Also, repeats that worked in earlier Mu versions don't work correctly in Mu4. When trying to edit the voltas in those scores in Mu4 I experienced two crashes. Moreover, when playing back those files, the playhead did not follow correctly and the sound sometimes was suspended.
