any way to lower the app resolution without going to Display Settings > Display Resolution?

ms4 doesn't run smoothly on my 4k laptop display, and for most apps the fix is to lower the running resolution. however, there seems to be no option to lower the app's res from the app itself, meaning i have to manually change the resolution from windows settings, which is an annoying process that doesn't reset after closing the app. is it possible to alter some app setting to do this or am i just gonna have to cope with it?
