Multiple different instrument parts on one staff
Not sure how niche a request this is, though I can see it fixing a lot of problems people might come across - I'd love to be able to freely apply any instrument to each individual voice on each of the staves in my scores and have them each produce separate complete parts.
I've seen similar enquiries in the context of choral scores where people wanted the SATB lines to share a grand staff but still produce individual parts - for which there's a very limited template workaround; but I'd like to do this with all instruments, for example in a large score, fitting violin 1 & 2, viola, and cello parts altogether into a grand staff and having them still play back and produce separate parts properly would be brilliant. And I'd like more freedom to mess around with unconventional orchestration ideas like pairing a recorder with a flute instead of having 2 flutes, or mixing saxophones into the other woodwind parts without ending up with a page a mile long.
Obviously this would have to be limited to non-transposing instruments or ones with the same transposition... unless it could be done that the staff in the full conductor's score shows all lines together in concert pitch (or a transposed key of one's choosing), but each part produced has the appropriate transposition applied where needed... regardless it seems to me that this would be the ideal intuitive way to practice orchestration and have the most freedom to assign each voice in each staff however one wishes.
