Bug: Fretboard diagrams: Checking "Multiple dots" does not persist
Given a fretboard diagram in a score
When I select the fretboard diagram
And I click Properties > General
And I check "Multiple dots"
And I deselect the fretboard diagram
And I select again the same diagram
Then "Multiple dots" is not checked
Expected behaviour:
When I select again the same diagram
Then "Multiple dots" is checked.

Observe also that nothing in the general tab of a fretboard persists, so your expected behavior may merely be a "suggestion". It would seem appropriate to also suggest an awareness-verification regarding temporary "multiple-dot activation" by accompanying mouse-pressing with the [ctrl modifier]. It could be generally seen as faster than relying on the "Multiple dots" checkbox, depending on, of course, the user's accessibility to an alpha-numeric keyboard.
In reply to Observe also that nothing in… by worldwideweary
And it depends on users knowing that [ctrl modifier] in this windows does this thing, which is not a given.
However, my usecase:
As a user, I want to add a fretboard diagram with a multiple dots per string above a section of music.
I add fretboard diagram. I move on. I come back and want to add one more dot.I click to add a new dot.
This erases all my old dots on that string, forcing me to undo what I did.
Note that the properties dialog setting is persisted on other entities, but not "Barre" and "Mutliple dots" on fretboard diagram.
On the fretboard diagram, the dots on the diagram persist as they should, as does the "Settings" tab, and "Barre" and "Mutliple dots" is not marked differently from other UI elements in the fretboard diagram window.
That is why I think this is a bug from the UX perspective, not a suggestion for improvement.
