Language problem
Hello,
I use version 4.2.1.2 and due to a forced re-install of Windows I also had to re-install MS.
Now I noticed that I cannot set my main language to Dutch anymore like I used to have it.
When I try to check for an update of the language, it only goes for an update of English, which is my default Windows language.
Could anyone tell me how I can get my Dutch version back, please, as it is nt even in the list.
Many thanks in advance.

I think that means that your MuseScore language in Edit > Preferences > General > Languages is set to "System default".
What happens if you click on the dropdown arrow of the Languages field? You should see a list which you can scroll down (endlessly...) with the mouse scroll wheel until you see "Nederlands":
Failing that, have you tried Help > Revert to factory settings ?

Hi DanielR,
The dropdown list is quite short and "Nederlands" does not appear in it. (See screenshot).
I also tried to reset the program to factory settings and refreshed the list, but the result stayed exactly the same.
Thank you for your input.

Thank you for the advice, but even a reinstall has not made any difference.

Check C:\Program Files\MuseScore 4\locale, whether there is a languages.json, and check its content, whether it has an entry "nl": "Nederlands",
If not replace it with the attached

Hi again, Jojo-Schmitz,
the languages.json file is there and it does have an entry "nl":"Nederlands".
So, what next?

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How I did not notice that/think of that......
That is really embarrassing, I thought that was the end of the list as theer was no scrollbar in view.
Nevertheless, thank you ever so much for your patience and your help, I am truly grateful.

But you can't guess scrolling will work if there is no kind of initial visual clue that it will.
Imho that's pretty poor user experience.

I agree.
