Parts indenting strangely with hidden staff.
I am orchestrating a piece of music by someone else. I happen to want to use a solo violin. But when I add this instrument to the violins 1 part and then set it to hide when empty, this happens:
Score is attached below.

FYI, I decided not to use Vlns 1 in this movement so I'm just going to use the same staff. Still would like to know why this is happening though.

If the solo violin is only these 2 measures, why can't you do an instrument chance and back, and make it invisible?

It's more than that, but I'm finished with it. Did use an instrument change.
Just wondering why that could have happened.

Who knows. I was thinking that you were asking MuseScore to do something out of the ordinary. I noticed that in some cases the parts were bracketed and sometimes not. Just one of those MuseScore mysteries. Are we really surprised?

Interesting. Maybe not, although I have used this software for nearly two years now, and this has never happened. Although I’ve never tried to put a soloist in like that.

I've been using notation software for some 16 years. One thing I've learned is that just because I think it should a certain way, doesn't mean it will.

Although this happens more in some cases than in others.
No idea if this is the issue, but I recall seeing a recent post where the OP's screenshot looks like yours. Found that poster had an unusually long "Short Instrument Name" that was causing this behavior. Might be worth a look *shrug*.

Maybe it’s the invisible part, as I intentionally deleted the instrument name in the part score.
You need to remove (short) instrument name of Violin solo in this part score. (Offset is taken from longest instrument name)

Thank you :D
Strange that it would do that on systems where it is hidden.
There are some issues on Github that refer to indents/hidden stave/instrument name interactions. Maybe they are related to this issue.
