Help with Method Book creation. Changing staves and instruments on new sections and text formatting questions.

• Jul 31, 2024 - 05:42

I'm writing a drum method book. As such, I'd like to section the book up and in each section have completely different instruments and staff lines. For instance, One section of the book is dealing with a whole ensemble of percussion instruments most of which are using a single staff line. Another section of the book is dealing with a 5 staff line for drumset.

I was creating separate projects for each section and then writing the bulk of the book in an online word processor and pasting in PDF copies of all the exercises.

However, as you can probably guess, making changes to the exercises and then exporting them to PDF and pasting them back into my online document is a PITA (pain).

It would also be nice if there were a way to add a text "table" into a text block so that I can format a table of contents, and other tabular information.

Can all of this be done with MuseScore 4.x or does anything have another recommended suggestion?

I'm in the same boat. Wanting to put together some method books to be published, and would love it if I could do that in one software rather than many. Is this something people have done in MuseScore?
