image capture
Greetings. I'm new to MuseScore, and I've been learning a lot here and there, coming from Finale. I see in MS3 there was a thing called Image Capture, where you could make an image of something on screen and save it as an image. I don't see that in MS4. I have 4.4.2, and it seems as if it's not there anymore. I know how to import an image into a frame, but I'd like to create a measure of notes and make an image of that measure to place elsewhere in the score, as a possible way of singing something. Is this possible? I've checked the Forum, the Handbook, and online videos, but I don't find anything anywhere about this subject. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Almost all current OS have a built in feature to capture a screenshot, which can then be used as an image elsewhere in the score.
If you want to capture something without the Muse Score extra's or hidden items then you can use the Pubilsh tab.

Thank you, sir. But it's not that I want a whole screen shot, but only that single measure. I guess I'm still learning how to do all this. It seemed so easy with that camera icon and image capture before, but now I'm not so sure. But thanks for getting back to me.

Which OS are you using?
On Windows the default utility for this also allows capturing a part of the screen.
If your OS tool does not have that, there might be a free utility which can do that for you.

I have Windows 11. And I just did a search and trial of all that. I never knew that I could take a screenshot of only a portion of the screen. Thanks, man. That works perfectly. God bless you!!

Excellent, only thing it does not do is transparant images, same size and high dpi. But for most use cases the standard capture tool is sufficient.
Enjoy using the software.

Thanks, but for what I need, the print screen thing is good enough. Maybe MuseScore will bring back the Image Capture some day. Seems like a good thing to be able to do.
