define chord symbols so that all imported chords use same interpretation
Currently moving a lot of Sibelius files to MuseScore. While every file requires some tweaking it overall works ok.
I am wondering, is there a way to have all chord symbols change to my preferred format?
What I mean by that is that for all minor chords I want to use the form X- and for all major chords I want to use X^.
So ideally instead of importing Abmaj7 I would automatically end up with Ab^7 after loading my saved style. But I don't understand how to tell MuseScore which format to use for which chord.
I found https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/chord-symbols#change-appearance which seems to touch on what I am looking for. But I did not understand whether that documentation covers how to transfer existing chord symbols into my preferred form.
What I want to do is for an imported file to change all chords from the format I do not want to be using to the format I prefer:
Abmaj7 -> Ab^7
Abm7 -> Ab-7
Abm7b5 -> Abø7
...
Is this possible?

Is there an open feature request for this or should one be created?

A generic search and replace functionality, working on a selection, would be quite nice
I don't see such a request on GitHub, so go ahead
It seems the ability to alter chord symbols is being revised. Maybe someday...
I see in Sibelius where you can alter a setting to have an instance where you enter your first example, it will change it to what you want. As yet, I see no such ability in MuseScore.
Try my https://musescore.org/en/project/replace-chord-symbols plugin. Will probably not work in MU4.4
Workaround: install MU3.7 (https://github.com/Jojo-Schmitz/MuseScore/wiki/) which reads MU4 and MU3 files.
