score finder

When I use the wonderful score finding feature I sometimes find that I have to pay for the download. I don't mind that but then I only seem to be able to download a pdf and not a musescore file. I can convert the pdf but it is not all that accurate and sometimes puts extra beats into some of the bars. What am I doing wrong, please?
