Choosing the octave position of the note.
Hello everyone!
Could you please guide me in the following case: when I am inserting a note using the chord symbol, is it possible to choose whether it will be an octave lower or an octave higher automatically, in relation to the space or line on the staff that is being inserted?
If so, what would be the steps to do this?
Note: This feature exists in Finale.
Thank you very much!

Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down move a selected note one octave up or down. If you're in a chord, be sure to select only the one note that you want to move.
"inserting a note using the chord symbol" It is not clear what you mean by that. Chord symbols are either fretboard diagrams or special text items like Cm or Fmaj7. Neither of them insert notes.
You can add notes above or below a range of notes already present in the score using the "Add interval command" found in the Add menu. That includes octave above and octave below. There are also default keyboard shortcuts to add notes at intervals above. See https://handbook.musescore.org/basics/entering-notes-and-rests#adding-b…

But no shortcut to add notes below. In Finale, this was done by adding SHIFT to the desired interval.

The action is available but not assigned to a shortcut by default. You can assign your own choice of shortcut from Edit>Preferences>Shortcuts
