Electronic Drummer Newbie!
Hi everyone! I would like to introduce myself.
I invent electronic instruments, and I have the world's fastest drum pedals (amongst other goodies). I am jumping into MuseScore to make teaching files for the Roland Drum Tutor. It looks like it will be the perfect learning tool for my 2-stroke pedals. You can see my work at Drumagination.com. I haven't completed any files yet, but it looks like fun....

Mark,
I like the twin-pad pedal design, especially the ones where the beater is a direct extension of the pedal interface (as on the Custom and Longhorn). Do your toes ever get sore from hitting the upstroke pedal?
I too am using MuseScore to create MIDI files for Roland's Drum Tutor software (DT-1, version 1.00). I've only experimented with MuseScore a little so far (just making simple drum exercises). I like the fact that the Roland software still "scores" your playing with user-generated MIDI files just like it does with the exercises and songs that come with the software (which happen to be MIDI files as well). I need to try adding in some other instruments (bass guitar, etc.) like in the Roland-provided songs. Looks like MuseScore will be perfect for doing that too.

Thanks for writing, but this is embarrassing.
I got bogged down with Musescore and switched to Anvil Studios. I found a YouTube demo that showed how to make drum parts easily, and they can be exported in MIDI format files that work flawlessly with the Roland Tutor.
If you go to the drum pedal page of Drumagination.com, the "tutor" files use the floor tom input as the upstroke drum trigger. You can download them from my site and play.
In answer to your question....I wear socks when I play, otherwise you will get callouses on the top of your toes.
Happy drumming....

Mark,
No worries - gotta use what works for you.
Thanks for the info on the pedals. I'll have to keep those in mind in case I get tired of my old single-chain drive and KD-7 combo.
