My first score plays back too quietly
Hi, I have to set the computer speaker volume at maximum to hear my first score. How to make MuseScore to play it back louder?

Open Synthesizer / Fluid, move the cursor up;
View / Play Panel, controls the volume;
Vista / Mixer, controls the volume.
On Windows, open the system mixer (see Annex.
Welcome on board.)
Ps: Synthesizer, Master Effects tab> Set NoEffect. The volume increases (the sound quality decreases a little)

I'm sorry but I don't understand what are you talking about. I run MuseScore in Microsoft Windows 7. Please be more specific for that OS.

Those instructions are independent of OS. MuseScore runs the same on all platforms. Those settings are for MsueScore, not for your OS.

Thank you - I've got it!

@northway
I try again, in the images I have attached:
1 - Windows Sounds Settings
2 - MuseScore 2.0 b1 Settings
The two handbooks are substantially similar:
For 1.3 and 2.0 b1 see

Eventually, I set the required volume rate but I can’t save it – I have to set it again each time I open the MuseScore.

Synthesizer volume should save with the *program* - so it's more permanent and affect all scores. Mixer volume saves as part of the *score* so it's only preserved if you save the score and only applies to that score.

move the cursor
Set as default becomes active
Click the button to save
@northway We are aware of this problem. You can follow up the status of this issue via #37576: Default and max playback volume much too *loud*

There has been a change today, in 2342ee5, "allow 10db more gain in volume slider", now it is way too loud and even distorted at higher dynamics

The next post would be:
My first score plays back too high ... I begin to prepare images ;-)

10db!!!!!!! That's an enormous amount of gain, equivalent to 10 times louder than it is at present!
You guys are aware it is logarithmic I hope.
Probably even half that would be too much.

the allowing 10db more might not be the problem, but the * 20 that got applied 2 commits later, check https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/blob/5730db9c06fa76a1a8df008b924…, here the " * 20" is new.
