Inputing music notes using both treble clef

• Aug 12, 2015 - 00:55

I have attached a example of a piece I am simplifying. For some odd reason First system (first 6 measures) I can't seem to get certain notes to go right under the top that are there. I get a whole note in...but then change to a half note & it will not put it there, it skips to the next measure. What could be going on? Do I have it set to the wrong chord? If so how to change that? Thanks for any advice

It's hard to understand the problem from just a picture. Please psot the actual score you are having problems with and tell us *precisely*, sterp by step, what you are doing, what you expect to see happen, and what happens instead. We shoudl then be able to to tell you what you need to do.

Ok...sooo...heres the major ones i need to resolve.

Q1: At end of measure 42 in original copy the key signature changes to A major. Right before it goes into > Measure 43 (which also has it). This key signature changes again in >MEASURE 47 to Db major. I change it but then it changes all of my previous work in last measure. I am stuck on MEASURE 42 trying to figure out how to transition into MEASURE 43 with sharps, then again in MEASURE 47 going into flats.

Q2: I need to make a total of 4 pages. (Replicating original) I have 76 total measures. At the end of Pg. 4, (Measures 73-76) are split into only 4 measures to end the song. I probably can change it after I've gotten all notes in as you've explained Marc....but sometimes I like to set most things in order before I finish...just how i am...thats all for now. THANK YOU thannk you and thank you

Q1. To change keys, drag the key signature to the first measure of the new key. So, drag A major to bar 43, not 42. Measure 42 will not be affected, except to the extent a courtesy key signature will appear *after* that measure if it happens to be at the end of a system.

Q2. As I have tried to make clear (!), you are making it *much* harder on yourself by continuing to fiddle with formatting before you are done, and most likely you will have to undo virtually all of the formatting work you are doing now and re-do it later.

For example, in an effort to fit more measures per line, you have made your staff size unreadably small. When you go to print this out, you will realize it is unreadable. You will have to increase the staff size, and then anything else you did to make the desired number of measure fit will no longer be correct, so you will have to redo that work as well. And any manual adjustments you have meanwhile will then be wrong and will also need to be redone. And so on and so on.
