Chord notation
I am running 2.0.2 and when trying to insert chord symbols The only way I seem to put in an A chord is by typing upper case A. All the other chords I used went in using lower case letters and numbers ok.Is this a wee bug.

I always put chord symbols in in lower case, and they always turn into upper case, unless.I screw up and.MuseScore doesn't recognize them as a chord symbol. Can you share the score?
What chords did you try typing? Can you post the score you are having problems with?
By default, MuseScore normally automatically converts all chord roots to capital letters for the root & bass notes. There arew options to override this in Style / General / Chord Symbols. You can have it force all minor chords to lwoer case, or to preserve the case as you type it. But the default, again, is to always force things to upper case. Perhpas you are editing a score created by someone else in which this option was set differently. Again, seeing the actual score (the MSCZ file, not just a picture of it) and precise steps to duplicate the problem would help. i assume, btw, you are actually using chord symbols (Ctrl+K) and not ordinary staff text (Ctrl+T) or lyrics (Ctrl+L).

OK I have tried some tests. and attach some files. Stinky Blues was written in 2.0.2 and is the first piece I had the trouble with "a" as a chord input. Blue eyed Rascal was written in the first version of Musescore 2 that I installed before updating to 2.0.2. Portobello Hornpipe was written in 1.3.
Blue eyed rascal accepted the A chord input from lower case a.
Stinky Blues I had to input an upper case A to get the A7 chords you see. I now find after playing around that Stinky will not accept any lower case "a" in chord input or in system text. I thought that maybe my keyboard had broken but as you will see here I am typing a and A no problem.
I opened Portobello in 1.3 and tried chords and system text successfully, I then opened Portobello in 2.0.2 and it will not accept a lower case a for anything, chords or system text.
When typing an "a" the next letter will be missing as well, is this weird, for instance if I type in system text "fall" I will only see "fl".
When inputting chords I use ctrl+k and for system text ctrl+t or select them from the menu.

I tried all 3 files and in each file I can input the chord A7 by typing "a7".
Perhaps you have established a keyboard-shortcut with the key "a". Look at Menü Edit > Preferences. You can sort the shortcuts by clicking at the column like in windows explorer.
By the way: In "Stinky Blues" there are slurs instead of ties. You can enter ties with the shortcut [+] or the button in the toolbar.

Thanks for the slur / tie comments they look the same but playback differently, thanks.
I have looked in preferences and couldn't find anything.
I have uninstalled 2.0.2 and re-downloaded and installed it
Stinky is still the same to me and I can't put a lower case a into anything.
In fact I can't put an "a" into anything I open with 2.0.2 irrespective of which version it was created in, I can enter any chord except "A" by using a lower case from the keyboard.
I tried to write in system text and Stave text " All around" and I get "All ound"
I attach blue eyed rascal with system text entered, I left the system text and typed All around, I think you will see what I got.
The only preference I have changed from the default set is the storage for my music, this goes into my "written music" file folder so is safe if I ever uninstall the programme.

Try "Revert to factory settings" as described in the Handbook - it does what reinstalling does not. It seems pretty clear you have some sort of shortcut conflict, hoepfully that fixes it. If not, tell us what OS you are on, what country you live in / bought your computer in so we can understand the keyboard layout better.
BTW, slurs and ties look "similar" but not really the same.
