There is any chance to add Text to the Number on a Multi Measure Rest?
Hi,
I've seen some pop (Latin Music Percussion) parts that use the multi-measure rest with the text "Play X Bars", where X is the number of multi-measure rest.
This is handy to create parts for percussionist and for drummers where you only indicate the obvious breaks and accent but the rhythm is a well-known pattern so instead of fill the parts of a bunch of measure slashs, made senses to add multi-measure rest just to create the basic song structure, with enough information to musicians to know where to do their magics.
I've tried to reproduce that with MuseScore 1.x and 2.x using the text tool, but the result is not consistent and you need to made adjustment any time you do a change on the score, so it should be a properties tied to the multi-measure rest.
Regards

Isn't that more the task of a repeat measure sign?

The thing with the repeat sign is you will end with a really long part with some fills here and there, IMHO it is a waste of paper.
This technique allow to give to musician specific instruction on what to play and for how long, when to accent, etc.
If you look at the jpg I've already attached, at the left there is an instruction (ie Campana 2-3) and then the amount of measures to play this pattern. And just use the slash with accent or measure with rhythm where they are really required.
This is far beyond a simple way to communicate than a lot of repeat sign, besides musescore doesn't support multi-measure signs repeat (which also can help to resolve the problem).
Another thing I've realized with musescore when trying to do this is when you add text, this is tied to the measure so multi-measure rest function breaks the stave and, let's said if you want to have a |---- 8 ----| you will get one measure with whole note silence where the text is attached to and then a |---- 7 ---- | multi-measure rest. So I think a happy medium solution is to have a kind of freely text you can use to add to the score/part

As a workaround, does Staff text help you out? It is tied to the chord/rest you enter it upon and remains present when creating parts.
