creating a template for beginning band
I thought I read that MuseScore 3 can provide templates that will help score for beginning bands. (ranges, etc) but I can't find anything about it today. Is this available on MuseScore? (Maybe it was a different app, but I;d usre like to know before I plunge on.

But I'm not finding templates. I've tried to "double click on the instrument on the left", etc but can not see "Choose template" anywhere. I see the "regular" ones: various combos and instrument selections to create my own combo, BUT no place to request a template that informs me if I've gone out of the recommended ranges, when composing. THAT's what I think I saw reference to.

But for the record, you don't need a special template to get a warning when you go outside the ranges, that always happens by default unless you go out of your way to turn it off.
MuseScore comes with a bunch of templates, including a number of band-related ones, but maybe nothing that exactly fits your particular beginning band. So simply start with whatever is closest, modify it as needed (add/remove instruments, customize the range information in Staff/Part Properties, etc), then save it to your Templates folder, and you can then use that over and over.
