play button greyed out
Hi. My musescore has been working fine for ages but suddenly in the creating scores software, several options are greyed out: the play button, the rewind button and most of the other playing options along the top. In the view tab, both the synthesiser and mixer are greyed out. I have also noticed in the preference I/O folder there are no options selected and I cannot select anything in the port audio options. The reset audio button also does not work. I have downloaded additional sound packs including the general user and the musescore 3 one and the fluid one. I am using windows 10 and have the lastest version of Musescore available. I've factory reset it, reset my whole computer and lost all my work in the process and still it doesn't work. Any ideas at all as to what I can try next would be great. Thank you!

You didn't lose your saved files, you can still access them by using Open rather than looking for them in Recent scores or the Start center. For the sound issue try the things in https://musescore.org/en/node/96811

Thank you but I have tried everything on that page and I can't do half of it because the synthesiser is not selectable nor is the mixer.

So the settings in preferences didn't help and the Windows mixer isn't the problem and you have a 64 bit MIDI driver and finally you did a revert to factory settings?

I did a factory reset and there was no change.
