Tacet 1 instrument
Hi,
I'm writing a duet for myself (bassoon), plus Cello accompaniment. I want to be able easily to turn the bassoon line sound on and off, but still being able to see the bassoon music. Ideally I'd have a version that just said 'Tacet Bassoon' and this would mute the Bassoon line on playback, but the Cello part would be unaffected.
How can I do this?
Thanks,
Andy

Isn't the mixer enough?

Hi,
Until someone kind tells you there IS a mixer, you are likely to have to ask daft-sounding questions!:-)
Thanks very much, just what I needed...

Don't feel bad about it. When I started with MuseScore, it was months before I found out how to use the Mixer!

Or do feel bad, for not having read the handbook ;-)

Nobody reads a handbook from cover to cover. You look things up when you need to find something new out. But when you don't know something like a 'mixer' even exists, that approach doesn't always work. Anyway, feeling bad is over-rated and using Muse-core belongs to the 'fun' part of my life:-)

You'd better do read it front to back, at least once. Just to then now that there was something and return to that something to read about the finer details.
Trust me, it is time well invested.

FWIW, my suggestion would be to at least look over the main index page for the Handbook to get a rough idea of what is there, then when you have a question later, you might be able to figure out where to go look for it. Maybe also in your initial perusal you'll see a topic or two that sparks your interest right away. Anyhow, even i f you don't have time to read cover to cover, absolutely worth spending the few minutes to look at the table of contents!
But I also agree, feeling bad about any of this is overrated :-)
