Alternating Time Signatures
Hello All,
I'm working on this odd piano transcription of a song -
The composer indicates 3/4 and 2/4 at the beginning, then alternates freely throughout the piece (first three bars are in 3/4, then two bars are in 2/4, then we're back to 3/4, etc.). This is not indicated with time signatures throughout the piece, it is just understood that this will occur. I've attached a picture of the opening time signatures.
Is there any way to do this in Musescore? Thanks in advance for your help!

The measures themselves are easy enough, just make the rela time signature be 3/4 and then delete the extra beat where desired using Ctrl+Delete (or make it 2/4 by default and add beats where needed, but that's ends up involving more steps).
To create the time signature, I can think of a few ways but probably the best is to add the time signature numerals to the first note using the Symbols palette (press "Z" to display, then do a search for "time"). If the spacing doesn't look good, turn off automatic placement for these symbols ten either increase the leading space for the first note in the Inspector, or increase the "System header with time signature" setting in Format / Style / Measure. Best approach depends on whether you will be doing this for many staves and also whether the there are other time signatures where you do or don't want this to apply.

Ctrl-Del no longer works in Musescore 3.6 for anyone wondering. You have to manually change the bar length in the bar properties each time.

Nonsense. I used it just minutes ago, in 3.6.2.
But maybe it works only for those not wondering ;-)

Ctrl+Del works same as always. On Mac keyboards it is generally Cmd instead of Ctrl, but this specific command should work either way I believe.
Every once in a while something can go wrong - again, mostly it's been reported on macOS - where this particular key combinations stops responding., Could be macOS itself uses it for something else in some circumstances? But restarting MuseScore seems to solve it in such cases. So far no one has found out what causes this occasional glitch.
