Convert standard notation to mandolin tab
Is there a way to convert standard notation to mandolin tab? I know that in the original version of muse, I was able to do that. I don't see where that feature is available with this version.

add a mandolin tab staff. Copy and paste the notes from the standard staff to the tab staff. Remove the standard tab.

This works but—before removing the standard staff—if you enter notes in the standard staff (or edit them) you have to remember to copy and paste those changes to the tablature staff.
If you plan to do editing or note entry it might be simpler to do all your editing in a pair of linked staves: a mandolin standard notation liked to mandolin tablature staff. Any notational edit make in one linked stave will instantly update the other linked staff. Later, if you don't want the standard staff in tow, you can copy/paste to a separate Mandolin tab-only document. (Sadly we can't yet create tab-only parts, nor can we hide either of the linked staves independently, though the idea has been acknowledged a valuable option.
Instructions for creating linked Mandolin staff (instead of adding an independent mandolin staff):
1) make sure you have one of your score staves set to MuseScore's Mandolin instrument:
i.e. you have the following property for the staff: Staff/Part>Instrument = Mandolin
2) press i to open the Instrument panel
3) enter "Mandolin" in the search field (mandolin is available but does not appear in the default list)
4) click on the indented Staff 1 line of the Mandolin instrument. (This enables the Add Linked Staff button.)
5) Click the Add Linked Staff button
6) BEFORE leaving the dialog, in the Staff Type column, click the default Standard menu item
6b) choose Tab. 4-str. (Simple, Common or Full) ... if you skip this the TAB staff will show standard notation!*
7) close the dialog and enjoy your linked staves configuration
Now, when you add or edit notation in the standard staff, Musescore will update the tablature staff, or visa versa.
* Simple, Common or Full are simply collections of styles imparted to the tablature staff.
You can find most the individual tablature staff settings in the Staff/Part>Instrument>Advanced Style Properties (where the various properties are almost entirely about tablature.)

Where do I find a mandolin tab staff?
In reply to Where do I find a mandolin… by Michael Ricciarelli
In the add instruments dialog, press I, search for Mandlin

You actually press 'I' to get to the "add instrument" dialog. There you search for "Mandolin" in the search box.

That's what I wrote

You are right, but what you wrote could also be read as "first open the instrument dialog, then press 'I' ".
By the way, how do you get the nice "button" around the 'I' ?
