Entering drum notation

Hi All,

I'm trying to enter drum notation with a MIDI keyboard and the the mapping won't follow the keys. So, I can select a bar and audition all the sounds with the keyboard (GM2 mapping I assume) no problem but when I go into note entry, I get the same note no matter what key I play. This can only be changed by using the mouse to select the notehead from the drum map below. I have the dumb and can't figure it out.
